Wal-Mart presents Lamar Mayor with $1,000 check

Hartsville Wal-Mart manager Tim Ringer (right) presents a check to Lamar Mayor James Howell for $1,000. The money is a grant the town has received from Wal-Mart Giving. “Town Pride” is the name of the program assigned to this grant. The primary focus of the program is best described as “Environmental Sustainability.” The grant is to be used for equipment and tools needed to sustain day-to-day activities to keep the town clean for citizens and visitors.
