Two local County Correction Officers arrested and charged.
Two former Darlington County corrections officers were arrested after they were found with marijuana on the grounds of the county jail. While on duty as a corrections officer, Eunisha Marie Campbell, 21 years old, was in possession of and was using marijuana in the parking area of the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center, according to arrest warrants. Also charged with possession of marijuana was another Darlington County corrections officer, Jade Symone Scarborough, 27 years old.
The substance was seized by law enforcement after a drug detection canine alerted authorities to the vehicles of Campbell and Scarborough. The two were booked at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center on Wednesday, following their arrest.
South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) stated that the two former correctional officers are charged with Misconduct in Office and 1st Offense Possession of Marijuana. Warrants state that both “did intentionally and willfully engage in acts of malfeasance and nonfeasance” by breaching their official duties. Since their arrest, both have been released on bond. The case will be prosecuted by the Fourth Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
