The 2nd Terrence Carraway Memorial 5K took place Friday, Nov. 1, at the Darlington Raceway. Presented by Sam Carbis Solutions, the race welcomed swift runners, casual walkers, and their four-legged friends to take a lap around “The Track Too Tough to Tame” in memory of Carraway, a police officer and Darlington resident killed on Oct. 3, 2018, in the line of duty. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Terrence F. Carraway Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit, which is raising donations for a new South Carolina Fallen Officers Memorial Park in his honor on South Main Street in Darlington.
Alex Mincey finished the 5K first with a time of 18:15. Nate Wideman was right behind him with a time of 18:20.
