Sweet Potato Festival coming in October!

Pictures from previous Sweet Potato Festivals.

Plans are well underway for the 41st Annual SC Sweet Potato Festival, set to take place around the Public Square in downtown Darlington on Saturday, October 12, 2024. The Pilot Club of Darlington started accepting applications for vendors and sponsors in May 2024. So far, 63 vendors have been accepted and have paid for their spots, but there is still room for more vendors. Additional sponsors are also needed to support this community event. Applications for vendors and sponsors are available on the website: www.scsweetpotatofestival.com. The deadline for vendor applications and payments, as well as sponsorships, is August 15.

Proceeds from this event support various service projects of the Pilot Club of Darlington. These include scholarships for high school seniors, the Darlington Anchor Club, The Lord Cares, Trent Hill Center for Children & Families, Darlington Free Medical Clinic, Crazy Hope Community Center, the Alzheimer’s Association, Project Lifesaver, Brain Safety and Health Programs & Educational Materials, bikes and helmets for children, Pick-Me-Ups for Caregivers, and the Annual Caregiver Award.

The Annual Caregiver Award will be presented during the SC Sweet Potato Festival. This award, created by the Pilot Club, recognizes the selfless care individuals provide to their loved ones. A $500 monetary award is given to the caregiver to help with expenses. If you know someone serving in this important role, please visit www.scsweetpotatofestival.com and complete the nomination form so a worthy caregiver can be recognized at the festival this year. The nomination deadline is August 15, 2024.
