Suspected burglar apprehended

A weeks-long investigation into the theft of a building in Darlington County has resulted in an arrest, authorities announced Sunday.

Kevin Bentler was taken into custody on February 16 in connection with a burglary that occurred last month on Promise Lane in the Hartsville area. He faces multiple charges, including Burglary, Grand Larceny, and Criminal Conspiracy.

According to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies initially responded to reports of the building theft on January 3. During the investigation, law enforcement obtained video footage that allegedly showed the suspect in the act of stealing the property.

The Sheriff’s Office indicates that the investigation remains active and additional details may be forthcoming. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the case to contact the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office at 843-398-4501.
