Steven Phillip Gibson

Steven Phillip Gibson, 50, died July 28, 2022 surrounded by his family at the McLeod Hospice House, Florence SC. A life-long resident of Darlington, SC, he was the owner-operator of Gibson Tire and Exhaust in Darlington, SC. A Celebration of Life service was held Monday, August 1, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at Belk Funeral Home. The family received friends before the service from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Belk Funeral home and at other times at the home. Interment will be private at Grove Hill Cemetery, Darlington, SC.
Steve is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Nicole Williamson Gibson, daughter, Hannah Gibson and son, Daniel Gibson. He is also survived by his mother, Judy Gibson, a brother, Jamie (Jennie) Gibson, mother and father-in-law, Carol and Dwight Williamson, brother-in-laws Scott (Julie) Williamson and Marty Williamson and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his father, Phillip Gibson, and sister, Danielle Gibson.
Steve was an avid Clemson tiger fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing and four-wheeling with his son and daughter. His hobbies included visiting antique car shows and working with his buddies on his antique Chevelle car.
For relaxation, he always enjoyed vacations in the mountains of Tennessee and spending time with family and friends at his vacation home in Myrtle Beach, SC.
He loved being surrounded by people who enjoyed the feast that resulted from his master grilling. He was a devoted husband and father and often told his wife and children that he lived for them.
He will always be remembered as a friend to many and an answer to prayer for others because his heart was to help people in need.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dominion Church Epic Youth, 1030 Pearl Street, Darlington, SC 29532.
