Sheriff’s Office introduces mobile phone app

Darlington County Sheriff Tony Chavis has introduced a new way for citizens to stay connected with the Sheriff’s Office with a mobile phone application.

This application allows citizens to receive alerts directly from the Sheriff’s Office concerning significant events.

Also, citizens can submit anonymous tips, send messages and access other important information.

“This mobile app is another great way I can keep the people informed of what we have going on throughout the county,” stated Chavis.

Citizens can download the mobile application for free by searching “Darlington County Sheriff’s Office” in the Apple App Store and in the Android App Store or by texting “DCSO” to 95577.

The Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to allow the mobile application to send push notifications.

In the event of an emergency such as a missing child, the Sheriff’s Office will be able to push instant notifications to citizens’ cellphones.
