Shelvie Jean Davis
Shelvie Jean Davis, 82, of Darlington died on Friday, August 12, 2022.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at 3 PM at Victory Baptist Church, 633 W. Smith Ave., Darlington, SC 29532. Burial, directed by Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home followed at Swift Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 4 until 6 PM on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Kistler Hardee Funeral Home.
Shelvie Jean was born in Darlington, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late, Wiley W. and Alpha O’Neal Anderson. Shelvie Jean worked shortly with Dixie Cup in Darlington and Perfection America and later with her husband in the family business. She had a strong faith and loved serving God and helping others in need. Shelvie Jean grew up in the Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Darlington. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, GA’s and really enjoyed working with her “Super Seniors” for many years. Shelvie Jean also enjoyed cooking and hosting Christmas parties and other get togethers for friends and family.
Surviving is her husband of 65 years, Winfred Davis; her son, Marty Davis of Lugoff; her daughter, Kay (Eddie) Adams of Hartsville; and her grandchildren, Ryan (Courtney Jo) Adams, Kelsey Adams, Hunter and Kyle Lee, Marcy, Josh and Lilly Davis, and great grandson, Bodie Adams.
Shelvie Jean was preceded in death by her son, Winfred James “Jamie” Davis, Jr.; her daughter, Holly Lee; her brothers, William Anderson, and Aaron Anderson; and her sister, Daisy Anderson Byrd.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mission Fund at Victory Baptist Church, 633 W. Smith Ave, Darlington, SC 29532.
