Second arrest made in Lamar slaying

The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office has made a second arrest in a Sept. 12 slaying near Lamar.
The DCSO said in a news release that Zachary Deon McClain Jr. has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. The victim in that shooting, on East Jackson Street, was Shawnquavis Sparks.
Also charged with murder in the case is Tyrik R. Herion, 21, of 632 E. Jackson St., Lamar.
