Renee’ Tyler McCormick
Columbia- Reneè Tyler McCormick, 86, of Columbia, died Monday, May 16, 2022. Mrs. McCormick was born in Monetta, SC, a daughter of the late Cecil Clarence Tyler and Louise Corbett Tyler of Salley, SC. Her husband, Richard Howard McCormick preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Salley High School and later retired from the Darlington County School District.
Survivors include her two sons and a daughter-in-law: Rick Alan McCormick of Arnold, MD, and Ryan Sidney McCormick (Priscilla Burriss McCormick) of Blythewood; granddaughter, Kaitlyn McCormick Davis (Alex Davis) of Elgin (great-granddaughter, Laken Everleigh Davis); grandson, Matthew Ryan McCormick (Madeline Arnold McCormick) of Greenville (great-grandson, Clark John McCormick); as well as her dear friends, David Kemper of Columbia and the late L.H. “Sonny” Young of Salley, SC.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty Louise Tyler Tames of Indiana and Patricia May Tyler Smith (James) of Maiden, NC.
A Memorial Service was held at 2 o’clock Monday, May 23rd at Northeast Presbyterian Church, 601 Polo Rd, Columbia, SC 29223. The family received friends prior to the service in the church atrium beginning at 1 o’clock.
Mrs. McCormick and her family requested that her remains be donated to the Medical University of South Carolina Anatomical Gift Program.
Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
