Pizza!Pizza! coming to Darlington

Pizza lovers and bargain hunters rejoice! In the very near future, Darlington diners will have a new option for lunch and dinner, as Little Caesars Pizza aims to open a franchise in town this summer.
Ed Ader, director of franchise development for Little Caesars, tells the News and Press that the decision to set up shop in Darlington is part of the company’s overall growth initiative, resulting from high sales and steady market expansion over the past decade. Much of that growth has taken place in working class communities where money – and time – are precious.
“Darlington is similar to many other cities around the country where we have existing Little Caesars…We think families and the local workforce can appreciate a great tasting pizza for a great price. Our niche is value,” Ader says.
Value and convenience, Ader says, are the cornerstones of the Little Caesars brand. He cites the $5 Hot and Ready pizzas (14-inch cheese or pepperoni pies) available all day, and dinnertime deals like the Bacon Crust Pizza as great drivers for store business, which is carryout only.
Ader says Little Caesars is currently reviewing applicants for the Darlington franchise and, if the right candidate is found, the store could open this summer. Perhaps 20 jobs, part time and full-time, would result. Sites for the store are also currently under review.
“We will work with the franchisee to find the right location. It could be in an existing building, or it could be something we build from the ground up. We do like to have a drive-thru window on our stores if possible,” says Ader. “Since families drive our business, we want to be in an area where families can get to us and get in and out of the store easily.”
Potential locations for the Darlington Little Caesars franchise include the intersection of Pearl Street and Tedder Street, or along Harry Byrd Hwy near Syracuse Street.
