O’Rourke has an answer to gun-violence ‘epidemic’
I’m really concerned about the gun-violence epidemic in our country.
Former Congressman Beto O’Rourke is the only candidate for president who is treating the gun-violence epidemic with the urgency it demands. Since the shooting in Beto’s hometown of El Paso, he has spoken with fervor and clarity about the crisis surrounding gun violence and the prevalence of hate crimes.
Beto has stood up and advocated not just for the same modest solutions we always hear about, but for proposals that rise to the immense threat gun violence poses. In last week’s Democratic debate, Beto said, “Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47. We’re not going to allow it to be used against our fellow Americans anymore.”
We need a courageous leader with a bold plan to end this epidemic! Beto is shunning the conventional wisdom of Washington that these big solutions are untenable and unpopular.
Beto recognizes, like so many of us throughout America do, that assault rifles, weapons of war, should not be allowed on the streets and should be bought back.
Finally, a politician is speaking the truth about what needs to be done on guns and fighting for what he believes is right! Congress has been debating incremental changes for too long, and we can’t afford to wait any longer!
This is a defining time in our country and we need a leader with the moral courage to act decisively to end gun violence in our country, and that leader is Beto O’Rourke.
