One dead, one hospitalized after fatal automobile crash
A Texas man is dead after a fatal traffic accident in Darlington County. Coroner J. Todd Hardee said the incident occurred on Saturday morning, around 6:20am on Interstate 20, near the 133 mile marker. A 2016 Volvo tractor-trailer, traveling east on I-20, ran off the right side of the road, sideswiped a 2012 Honda sedan and hit several trees, according to S.C. Highway Patrol. There was no one in the Honda sedan.
The tractor-trailer driver died from the injuries and the passenger remains in the hospital. The driver has been identified as Asim Balcinovic, 53 years old, of Summerset, Texas, according to Hardee. The matter remains under investigation by the S.C. Highway Patrol.
