A joint law enforcement operation at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center on Thursday resulted in the arrest of a detention officer for drug possession.
Christian Javuon Jackson, a former employee of the detention center, was arrested and charged with Simple Possession after a K9 unit alerted officers to his vehicle during a comprehensive facility search conducted on March 20, 2025.
The operation, which involved officers from the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, Darlington City Police Department, and Hartsville Police Department, included searches of the employee parking lot, locker rooms, and administrative offices. All detention center employees were required to pass through a body scan machine and were screened for contraband.
During the search of Jackson’s vehicle, law enforcement discovered a small quantity of marijuana in both the front passenger seat and the trunk. Jackson was immediately terminated from his position following the discovery.
He is currently being held at the same facility where he was previously employed, awaiting a bond hearing scheduled for this afternoon.
The operation is just a part of extensive, ongoing efforts to maintain security and prevent contraband from entering the detention facility.
