Narcotics investigation leads to one arrest

Darlington County Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit Investigators arrested one following an investigation in the Pine Ridge Community.

Investigators located an individual outside of a convenience store in the 2800 block of W. Old Camden Rd. on a dirt bike at approximately 10 p.m. The individual told Investigators he had brass knuckles in his pocket. When an investigator removed the weapon, a bag of marijuana was located.
Following a search of the individual and his bookbag approximately 1 gram of methamphetamine, 34 schedule II pills and 2.5 grams of marijuana were located.

Investigators arrested Curtis Michael Dixon, 27, of Gadge Dr. in the Hartsville area. Dixon has been charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, schedule II, and simple possession of marijuana. Dixon has also been charged with violation of probation by the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services. Dixon remains in custody at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center on a $12,000 bond.
