Memorial Day Service held

A Memorial Day Service was held on the Public Square in front of the Courthouse in Darlington on Monday, May 29, 2023. Sponsored by the American Legion Post 13, with assistance from the Darlington City Police Dept., Darlington Recreation Dept., Darlington City Fire Dept., Darlington Rescue Squad, Mayor Curtis Boyd and Trinity Methodist Church, the event drew over 200 people. The speaker was U.S. Army LTC James Mallicoat, who gave a stirring message of patriotism, sacrifice and freedom, as well as a brief history of Memorial Day.
