Meet and Greet held for Sen. Chaplin, Sheriff August

Last week, at the Hartsville Country Club, approximately 150 community members gathered for a meet-and-greet event to welcome the new Darlington County Sheriff Michael August and SC State Senator J.D. Chaplin. The event, held at the Hartsville Country Club, located at 116 Golf Course Road, provided an opportunity for the public to engage with the two officials in a warm and convivial atmosphere.
The evening began with informal greetings, followed by an invocation delivered by Darlington County Coroner J. Todd Hardee, setting a tone of gratitude and community spirit. Following the prayer, attendees were treated to a delicious hot meal.
Throughout the evening, Senator Chaplin and Sheriff August expressed their gratitude for the community’s support, listened attentively to citizens concerns, and shared their visions for their respective roles. Attendees, which included local leaders, residents, and other officials, engaged in conversations about the future of Darlington County and South Carolina.
The event reflected the community’s enthusiasm and optimism for the years ahead under the guidance of the new sheriff and senator. Both officials emphasized their commitment to serving the people and ensuring progress across the county and state.
