Male in female attire arrested after Walmart carjacking

Victor Inman.

One of the two suspects involved in a carjacking in Darlington is now in custody, police have confirmed.
Victor Inman, 40, from Charlotte, North Carolina, has been charged with attempted armed robbery, grand larceny, and possession of a stolen vehicle. His accomplice, Sadarius Douglas, remains at large as of Monday morning.
According to a police report, officers from the Darlington Police Department responded to a call at the Walmart on Friday following a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim, who was on their lunch break, reported that their 2013 Chevrolet Camaro had been taken at gunpoint.
Surveillance footage shows a man, later identified as Douglas, exiting a nearby rental truck before approaching the victim and driving away in the Camaro. The rental truck, driven by Inman, left the scene shortly afterward. The Camaro was later spotted at the Tru Hotel in Florence, where officers located the car behind the hotel.
Inman reportedly arrived at the hotel in a white box truck a few minutes later. When he noticed the police, he attempted to flee but was stopped by officers who had blocked the exits. Inman complied with orders to exit the vehicle.
The police report noted that Inman was dressed as a woman and identified himself as “Victoria Inman.” However, officers confirmed his identity through his ID card.
Despite efforts to locate Douglas at nearby businesses, he remains at large. Inman is currently being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center without bond.
The stolen Camaro has been recovered.
