Local woman arrested for weekend shooting

A woman has been arrested and charged with murder following a shooting in Hartsville over the weekend. Police responded to a distress call on Logan Avenue around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim inside the home with a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Anthony Hudson, 57, by Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee, was transported to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Margie Lee Lighty (seen here) was arrested in connection with the murder and is being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center. In a statement, Chief of Police Byron Snellgrove expressed condolences to the victim’s family and friends and commended the swift action and dedication of the officers and detectives involved in the case.
