Llewellyn Fields Hart
Llewellyn Fields Hart received the warm, eternal embrace of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 27, when she passed peacefully in her home. She reunited with her husband and lifelong love, Robert M. Hart Sr., to whom she was happily married for 64 years.
Born April 1, 1930, Mrs. Hart was the daughter of Otto Roy Fields and Mattie Dubose Fields. Her faith in the Lord, a reverent love for family and friends along with her sweet soul and generosity were known to all. Volunteering for The Lord Cares ministry of Darlington became a passion of hers in recent years.
Mrs. Hart and her family eagerly looked forward to vacationing together each summer on Pawleys Island, a tradition spanning decades. She attended Flora MacDonald College in North Carolina and later the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Hart was a Clemson Tiger, though, and after graduating from USC she lived in Clemson with her family for 10 years. She and her family later moved back to her old hometown of Darlington, where she became the first social worker for the Darlington County School District. She was popular amongst the students she cared for and was loved by her colleagues.
She was a devout member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Surviving Mrs. Hart are her children: Robby Hart Jr. of Darlington; Lyn (David) Bush of Asheville, NC; Lou Hart of Darlington and her bonus “son” Gary Smith; and four grandchildren: Josh (Paige) Hart; Anna (Chris) McKagen; Corey Bush; and Tanner Bush. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hart was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Teressa Welch Hart and brothers William Fields and Roy Fields.
