Linda Goodson
Melinda “Linda” Bradshaw Goodson passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Monday evening, Feb. 7, 2022. A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Born on June 2, 1942, in Darlington County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward Bradshaw Sr. and the late Beatrice Richardson Bradshaw. She was a devoted wife and mother that found joy in being around her family. She was known to be an excellent cook and baker. Mrs. Goodson was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Darlington.
Surviving are her husband, James A. Goodson Jr., two children: Renee (Gerald) Shealy of Lexington, Dr. James A. (Tara) Goodson III, of Sumter, grandchildren: Ashley (Matthew) Harris of Greenville, Taylor (Shane) Green of Sumter, Jay (Jane Elizabeth) Goodson of Sumter, Lauren Goodson of Knoxville, Brad Goodson of Sumter, four great-grandchildren: Gunner, Callen and Ellington Green and Addie Phifer Goodson; her brothers: Charles Edward (Mary) Bradshaw Jr., of Ft. Myers, FL, William Duncan (Rachel) Bradshaw of Chapin and her sister, Cynthia Bradshaw of Blythewood.
The Goodson family appreciates all the kindness shown during this difficult time. Due to COVID concerns, they were to be leaving the gravesite immediately following the service.
