Thank you goes out to the most supportive businesses and people of Darlington. House of Refuge, Refuge Outreach Ministries recognizes Takis Restaurant for sponsoring their Annual Chicken Bog Fundraiser for 2017.It is always a pleasure to do every year the staff and owner Mr. George does it with smiles and are always on time. This year was better than last year and that’s a blessing! It is people like this with a big heart that helps others and the community be better. Everyone gave from the heart and worked with joy, when you support a vision you are included and pushes the others and we all come together as one making a difference together. It takes all of us to make a big impact and change the way our community turns out. House of Refuge, Refuge Outreach Ministry have been registered with the SC Secretary of State founded by Evg. Tonya D. Flowers and in operation since Oct. 2013 where we started in a small office just reaching out to battered women and children. In 2013 we started out by raising awareness about Domestic Violence against Women by establishing the first Road March held on the Darlington Courthouse grounds. In Jan. 2015 a home was opened to establish shelter for battered women and children that are transitioning. We are currently not taking any victims for housing but still provide resources for counseling, group support, continue of education, job seeking skills, parenting, drug rehabilitation, clothing and legal help.
