The Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church was filled with the uplifting sounds of gospel music on July 20th, as gifted inspirational musician Lucy Hemingway performed at the Gospel Song & Prayer Service. Known for her profound impact on the gospel music genre, Hemingway has written over 500 songs, recorded ten albums, and produced two DVDs. Her heartfelt compositions have become beloved staples in the gospel community.

The event began with an opening by Minister Verneda D. Brown, followed by a warm welcome from Joan L. Hicks and a prayer. Dorothell Muldrow delivered Words of Inspiration, setting a reflective tone for the evening. The JFWM Bible Study Group also contributed to the spiritual atmosphere with their musical selections.

Hemingway’s performance featured a selection of her most beautiful and inspirational songs, captivating the audience and leaving a lasting impression. The service concluded with a closing prayer, wrapping up a night of worship and inspiration.

The event was sponsored by Just For Women Ministries (JFWM), Cindy Hartman, Joan L. Hicks, Cash Baptist Church, Cherry Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Hartsville, SC), Savannah Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Wesley United Methodist Church, West Hartsville Baptist Church, the League of Women Voters, Church of God (Society Hill, SC), and Welsh Neck Baptist Church of Society Hill, SC. The collective support from these organizations highlighted the community’s dedication to celebrating faith and music.
