Hartsville ends their city mask ordinance

The City of Hartsville is taking off its face masks. The mask ordinance renewed by City Council in an April 13 council meeting ended May 13, based on updated guidance provided by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC’s most recent update advised that Americans who are fully vaccinated may be without masks in most places. The City of Hartsville has followed guidance and made decisions based on information provided by the CDC throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. A The safety of residents and visitors has remained at the forefront of every decision that has been made, the city said in a statement. While the mandate has been removed, the city still encourages those at-risk to continue to protect themselves accordingly for their safety and the safety of those who are around them.
