Gospel in the Park celebrates 20th Anniversary

The spirit of faith, fellowship and community filled the T.B. Thomas Sports Center on Sunday, July 12, as Gospel in the Park continued its landmark 20th Anniversary season with another uplifting afternoon of worship, music and outreach.
Held at the T.B. Thomas Sports Center, 700 W. Washington Street in Hartsville, the monthly summer event brought together residents from across the Pee Dee for an inspiring celebration centered on praise, unity and service. Since its founding two decades ago, Gospel in the Park has remained committed to strengthening communities through faith while providing valuable resources to families.
In addition to an afternoon of powerful gospel music and worship, attendees had access to a variety of medical organizations, food vendors and community resource providers, making the event both spiritually enriching and practically beneficial for those in attendance.
The devotional message was delivered by Pastor Christopher Morgan and Christ Cathedral Ministries of Hartsville, setting a heartfelt tone for the afternoon and encouraging attendees to remain steadfast in their faith while supporting one another as a community.
An outstanding lineup of gospel artists and praise groups kept the audience engaged throughout the event, filling the venue with joyful music and inspiring performances. Featured guests included Tali Harrison and Friends of Columbia, Damion Murrill and Friends of Wilmington, North Carolina, Rev. Cletus Jones and the Spiritual Goldenaires of Columbia, Forgiven of Timmonsville, Alice Walker and The Silver Voices of Bishopville, and Billy Bradley Jr. and Heart of Worship of Columbia.
Each musical group reflected the event’s longstanding mission of bringing people together through the universal message of faith, hope and praise.
Following the event, Gospel in the Park founder Barbara Carraway expressed her gratitude for the tremendous support shown throughout the evening.
Carraway said she was pleased with the impressive service and sincerely thanked every pastor, musician, volunteer, vendor, organization and attendee whose participation helped make the event another memorable success during the organization’s milestone anniversary year.
For 20 years, Gospel in the Park has served as more than a summer concert series. It has become a cherished community tradition that unites people of all backgrounds through worship, fellowship and encouragement while connecting residents with important health and community resources.
As the anniversary season continues, organizers invite the public to attend upcoming events and experience the inspiring atmosphere that has made Gospel in the Park a beloved fixture in the Hartsville community for two decades.
