Five arrested, drugs seized during search
Darlington County authorities executed a search warrant on January 30, 2025, leading to multiple arrests and the seizure of illegal drugs. The Darlington County Drug Enforcement Unit carried out the operation at a residence off Sunny Point Road in the Florence area of the county, following numerous complaints from concerned citizens.
The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office reports that, during the search, deputies recovered 10 grams of cocaine, two syringes containing methamphetamine, heroin, various pills, and marijuana. As a result of the investigation, several individuals were taken into custody on drug-related charges.
Thomas Powell II and Tara Marlowe were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and trafficking cocaine. Krystal Grice was charged with possession of methamphetamine, while Jason Brown was charged with possession of heroin and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Thomas Hunter Jr. was also taken into custody, facing charges of possession of heroin and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Authorities have stated that the investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests may follow. Law enforcement officials continue their efforts to combat illegal drug activity in the community, emphasizing the importance of citizen reports in identifying and addressing such concerns.
