Eleanor Irby Haynes

We are sad to announce that, on September 28, 2022, we had to say goodbye to Eleanor Irby Haynes of Darlington, South Carolina. She was born in Gretna, Virginia. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Coleman Irby and Lucy Yeatts Irby; and her son, Scott Douglas Haynes. She is survived by her husband, Wallace C. Haynes of Darlington; her daughter, Cindy Haynes (Will) Green of Florence; her daughter-in-law, Kim Smith Haynes of Hartsville; her granddaughter, Irby Haynes (Adam) DuBose of Hartsville; her great-grandchildren, Wallace, Law and Haynes DuBose; and her siblings, Dale I. Shelton of Amherst, VA, Pete (Jeanette) Irby of Hurt, VA and Curtis (Loretta) Irby of Newport News, VA.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 2nd 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Waters-Powell Funeral Home in Florence. A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 2nd 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Darlington.
Many tributes were paid to Eleanor. Among those were Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee, Former S.C. Governor David Beasley and Former S.C. First Lady Mary Wood Beasley.
