Darlington Police host National Night Out

The Darlington Police Department welcomed the community to the 100 block of Pearl Street on Tuesday evening, August 4, for its annual National Night Out event, held from 6 to 8 p.m.
The event brought together a wide range of local partners, including the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, the Darlington Fire Department, and numerous area churches, businesses, and community organizations. Vendors lined the street offering free food, healthcare information, school supplies, games, and a variety of other giveaways for attendees of all ages.
Adding to the evening’s festive atmosphere was musical guest Robert Anthony, a Darlington native now based in Atlanta. Anthony performed for the large crowd that turned out for the event, providing entertainment throughout the evening.
National Night Out is an annual, nationwide event designed to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve while promoting neighborhood camaraderie and public safety awareness. Tuesday’s turnout reflected strong community support for the initiative in Darlington.
