Darlington man hospitalized after fighting yard fire
A Darlington County man in his 70s was hospitalized Jan. 19 after trying to fight a yard fire with a garden hose, local media reported. The incident took place on Leavensworth Road as the man was burning yard debris and the fire got out of control, said Darlington County Fire District Chief Ricky Flowers. The blaze burned two acres; about 15 firefighters responded.
