The Darlington Kiwanis Club welcomed its 2026-2027 leadership team during a meeting Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Darlington Country Club, 125 Country Club Road.
Ronnie Ward, Darlington’s Interim City Manager, former Mayor and longtime club member, presided over the induction of the new officers and board members.
Amy Driggers takes the helm as President, with Kaylen Snapp — who also serves as membership officer — stepping in as President-Elect. Rounding out the board are Secretary John Segars, Treasurer Diane Sigmon, Past President Dean Sigmon, Spiritual Aims Officer Stan Thompson, and Fundraising Officer Bill Moore Jr.
In her first act as incoming president, Driggers praised outgoing president Dean Sigmon for a year marked by expanded community outreach, thanking him for his leadership and dedication to the club’s mission.
Kiwanis member Nancy Matthews introduced the club’s newest member, Taylor White, to the crowd. Members commented how nice it was to see a growing number of women joining the club and helping contribute so much to their community efforts.
Founded in 1921, the Darlington Kiwanis Club is one of the oldest service organizations in the area and is celebrating its 105th anniversary this year. The club meets every other Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Darlington Country Club for a buffet lunch and program.
Members stay busy year-round supporting local children through initiatives like Academic awards and scholarships for Darlington Key Club members. The club also hosts an annual Pancake Supper, a Diaper Drive, partners with Community Connections to help feed those in need, and sponsors Darlington’s Annual Carol Lighting on the Public Square each Christmas season.
Up next, the club will hold its Pancake & Sausage Supper fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 126 Pearl St. Plates are $7 each, available eat-in, take-out, or drive-thru.
The next regular club meeting is set for Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Darlington Country Club.
