Darlington County woman facing multiple charges in overdose death
A woman from Darlington County, facing multiple charges related to the overdose death of a man, may stand trial this week, according to court officials. Haley Mooneyham is charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection to the death of 26-year-old Timmie Cassidy, as well as the distribution of fentanyl. Authorities allege that she provided the drugs to Cassidy, which led to his death.
In September of last year, Mooneyham was arrested in Chesterfield County on charges of assault by a mob. More recently, in early June, she was taken into custody by Hartsville Police on several charges, including drug possession. A Hartsville City judge initially set her bond at $3,000 along with a personal recognizance bond.
However, in June, prosecutors filed a motion to revoke her bond, claiming she had violated the terms of her house arrest and the good behavior provision. The judge granted the motion, revoking her bond, and she has remained in custody since then.
Cassidy’s parents expressed relief that the judge revoked Mooneyham’s bond, believing she hasn’t been taking the charges against her seriously. According to officials, a jury has been selected for her trial, which could proceed later this week. Mooneyham is currently being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.
