County Crime Watch group holds meeting

The Darlington County Crime Watch and Neighborhood Partners Monthly Meeting was held on May 25, 2023, at the Matthews & King Education Center, located at 115-B Exchange Street in Darlington. Speaker was Staciy Threadgill (shown here) from Asset Technology Group. She gave a presentation on how to recognize online fraud and how to protect yourself from it. She stressed the need to be extremely guarded with your personal, medical and financial information in your social media, while online shopping, checking emails, paying bills online, or even just surfing the internet. She also gave tips on creating secure passwords, as well as avoiding internet ads and technical support ads, which could be hacks or scams. “When in doubt, don’t answer it,” she advised.
