Hurricane victim experiences the “heart of Hartsville”
When Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria hit the U.S. Virgin Islands in early September with a devastating one-two punch, the damage was beyond catastrophic. Hotels and hospitals and homes were utterly destroyed, and power still remains out in some areas, making the cleanup efforts even slower. Many residents have had to leave their homes, not knowing if they will ever be able to return.

Church celebrates 100 years of God’s blessings
For one hundred years, First Church of God has been part of the Darlington community. On Oct. 21 and 22, the church is celebrating those 100 years of God’s blessings and is inviting the community to join them.
St. John’s Elementary hosts Fall Festival
St. John’s Elementary School in Darlington celebrated the arrival of autumn with an October 5 outdoor bash on the playground and green. The event featured inflatable slides and obstacle courses, snacks and treats, games of skill and luck for all ages, and temporary tattoo and hair color stations.
