Autrey Andrew O’Neal, Sr.

Autrey Andrew O’Neal, Sr. age 78, passed away Wednesday, July 27, at the Veteran Village. A graveside service will be held Monday, August 1 at 9:00am at Florence National Cemetery; the family will receive friends Sunday, July 31 from 4:00 until 6:00 at Belk Funeral Home and other times at his sister’s, 125 Spring Heights Circle.
Autrey was born on November 26, 1943 in Darlington County; he was the son of the late Frances O. Sparrow Edwards and Carol S. O’Neal Sr. Autrey worked as a HVAC specialist and was the owner of Autrey’s HVAC. He was also a fireman for the City of Darlington, a pilot, and an avid fisherman. Being a talented musician, he performed with the Bibletones for many years. Mr. O’Neal attended Temple Free Will Baptist Church.
Before his career as a HVAC specialist he served his country honorably in the United States Army. Autrey was stationed in Okinawa and Thailand during the Vietnam Era.
He is survived by his children: Don O’Neal, Autrey Andrew “Andy” (Charis) O’Neal, Jr., Amanda Kay O’Neal, grandchildren: Rhema C. O’Neal, Lily K. O’Neal, Samuel A. O’Neal, siblings; Faye O. Lewis, Linda G. (David) King, Carol “Steve” (Joanne) O’Neal, Jr and his ex-wife, Carrie O’Neal.
He was preceded in death by siblings Bobby F. O’Neal, Roy F. O’Neal, and Easter J. O’Neal.
