City governments, churches and concerned citizens around the county came together on Christmas weekend to provide warmth, shelter and food to those in need during while temperatures dropped to well below freezing. After news came of an arctic cold front hitting the area, a multitude of people, from all walks of life, came together to create a temporary shlter for those affected by the cold. Food, beverages, showers, and beds were all donated from citizens and organizations around the county. In Hartsville, Second Baptist Church also opened a shelter.
