Virgil Wells Cancer Walk donation
The annual donation in the amount of $1,000 was presented to Beth Johnson of the American Cancer Society from the Mayo High School Athletic Hall of Fame and the Virgil Wells Cancer Walk.
“It is a pleasure giving to an organization that serves the masses,” said Regina Flynn Damon, the Cancer Walk’s Chairperson. “Cancer has no regard for financial status, color, religion and appearance. Whenever it strikes the human race, we are all affected. Beth comes in every year with literature and prizes and is available at the walk and after the walk to speak to the participants and serve the community upon request.”
The cancer walk has already taken place but donations are still being accepted. They can be sent to Regina Damon at P.O. Box 1517, Darlington, SC, 29540 or at the Mayo Hall of Fame Building, 306 Jessamine Street in Darlington.
