Taste of Society Hill

Several hundred people enjoyed the Taste of Society Hill, Saturday, May 13, despite concerns over forecasted rain. Vendors from both North and South Carolina set up tables with tasty treats, ranging from bacon-wrapped chicken to sorbet and everything in between.

The Society Hill Train Depot was full of historical artifacts detailing the town’s history. Some items, being stored in the Darlington County Historical Commission, had not been in Society Hill for years. Taste Committee Chairwoman Melissa Burch said that she was thrilled with the outcome, especially considering that the committee put the event together in just eight weeks.
