Shot fired outside Dollar General store

At least one gunshot was fired Nov. 18 outside the Dollar General store at Indian Branch Road and West Lydia Highway, according to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were sent to the store about 7 p.m. after reports of a shooting in the parking lot area.

Deputies located a man outside the store who indicated he was the intended target of the shooting because of his involvement in an earlier shooting in Lee County. The man has failed to provide further details to deputies.

At least one round did strike the store, officials said. No injuries were reported. (This Dollar General does not have exterior surveillance cameras.)
