Hartsville sets water park prices

Hartsville City Council held their regular meeting on May 8 and finalized a schedule of rates and charges for the new Neptune Island Water Park.

Season Pass Admission Fees (to be used throughout the open season at Neptune Island Waterpark) will be $54.99 for a General Rate, and $44.99 for In-City Resident/City Employees Rate.
According to Resolution 05-18-07, In-City Resident means someone who lives and resides within the municipal limits of the City, and the City Employees rate applies to full-time employees of the City of Hartsville. These special rates are only be available for purchase in-person with proof of residency or proof of employment.
Specialty Booking Rental Fees were also set for the the open season, with a Captain’s Celebration General Rate of $249.00, and a Captain’s Celebration In-City Resident/City Employees Rate set at $229.00. All rates are subject to state and municipal taxes and fees.
Previously announced individual admission prices remain the same, with persons 48 inches tall and over admitted for $17.99, persons 48 inches and under admitted for $15.99, and kids aged 2 and under admitted free, with a reusable Neptune Island swim diaper available for $9.99.

Also on the agenda, Council approved final reading of Ordinance 4332, granting a lease of the building at 147 West Carolina Avenue to the Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics Foundation for use as office space. This month to month lease will be $1,200 per month beginning July 1st, 2018.

By approving final reading of Ordinance 4333, Council voted to allow Cellco Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless to install additional equipment within city limits, which will increase Cellco’s annual rent agreement with the city by $1,200 per year.

Council approved a Mutual Aid Agreement between the City of Hartsville Police Department and the Fourth Judicial Circuit Law Enforcement Traffic Network Team.
Finally, Council agreed to lease a portion of property at 321 Bell Ave for installation and maintenance of cameras and equipment for the monitoring of illicit activity. The city will pay land owner Darlington County Habitat for Humanity a one-time lease cost of $1, and the agreement can be terminated by either party.
