Darlington football coach resigns

From Darlington County School District:

Coach John Jones, Jr., head varsity football coach at Darlington High School, announced his resignation from the school’s football program today. Jones, who has been the school’s head coach since 2015, is resigning to pursue other coaching opportunities. 
 
“We appreciate the four years Coach Jones spent with our Falcon family,” said Cortney Gehrke, principal of Darlington High. “He has worked hard to share his passion, vision, and determination with our students. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”
 
Jones will continue his teaching responsibilities at Darlington High. The school will begin the search for a new varsity football coach immediately.
