Darlington County business owner arrested for operating without a license

James Harvey Teal, owner of T&T Repair Inc. in Darlington County, was arrested by South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) investigators. The defendant is charged with operating the business without a valid license.

Teal continued to operate the business after being notified by the SCDOR that the business license was revoked and that he needed to close.

Teal is currently being held at the Glenn Campbell Detention Center. If convicted, he faces fines of $200 and/or up to 30 days in jail.

The SCDOR is committed to the fair administration of tax laws. By taking enforcement action against noncompliant taxpayers, the Department seeks to prevent unfairly increasing the tax burden on those who do comply.
