Christmas on Carolina: Extended Shopping Hours & Carriage Rides
Join us in downtown Hartsville for Christmas on Carolina on Thursday evenings from November 29th- December 20th. You will find the holiday spirit in our storefronts as they welcome you to treasures waiting to be gifted to loved ones. It can also be heard in the clip-clop, clip-clop of horse-drawn carriage rides that showcase our downtown.

Shop Small Downtown Open House
Thursday, November 29
5-8 p.m.

The DDRA, area businesses and Darlington Recreation present a Shop Small Downtown Open House with Santa, DJ, music, giveaways, specials, and SNOW on the Public Square.

2nd Annual Festival of Trees
Friday, November 30 – Opening Night Preview Party
7-10 p.m.

Be the first to view the magic enjoying heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks and live entertainment. Support Black Creek Arts Council’s Art in Education program by purchasing trees and wreaths at the “Buy it Now” price only offered this one night, Friday, November 30. Trees and wreaths will be sold through silent auction. Cost is $35 per person.
Saturday, December 1st
10-4 p.m.
Story time, cookies and craft for children at 11am and 2pm. Cost is $5 per child
Sunday, December 2nd
12-4 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday include activities and fun for the whole family, including the viewing of decorated themed trees and wreaths donated by area businesses, organizations and individuals.

Christmas with Coker
Sunday, December 2
3-4 p.m.

The choirs of Coker College will present Christmas with Coker on Sunday, December 2nd at 3:00 p.m in the sanctuary of St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church. Featuring the Coker Singers, Men’s Ensemble, and newly-formed Civic Women’s Chorale, the choirs will lead a concert of exquisite holiday anthems alternating with familiar carol sing-alongs with the audience. Conducted by Dr. Jerron Jorgensen with organist Dr. Don Grice and pianist Mr. Blade Boulware, this roughly one-hour concert will be just the thing to put you and yours in the holiday spirit! This is a Trans4mations approved event and admission is FREE.

Carol Lighting Service
5:30 p.m.
Darlington Kiwanis Club brings a program of meaning for the season with music, prayer, and the lighting of the City Christmas tree.

Lights of Love
The Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center Auxiliary is bringing back a Byerly Hospital tradition the Lights of Love!
Join us Sunday, December 2nd at 4:30 p.m. for a special tree lighting ceremony with special music followed by refreshments in our main lobby.
If you would like to purchase a light in honor or in memory of a special loved one, forms are available in the gift shop on the first floor of the hospital.

Simply Christmas Exhibit
The Hartsville Museum will be festively decorated again this year for their Simply Christmas event open December 3rd – January 12th. The main exhibit will be Santa’s Workshop, an exhibit that will give guests a peek inside of jolly St. Nick’s workshop. Admission is free. The Hartsville Museum is located at 222 North Fifth Street and is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

2018 Mingle & Jingle benefitting Cypress Adventures

Join us for an evening of holiday cheer to support Cypress Adventures. This evening is aimed at raising awareness of the needs Cypress Adventures, while also celebrating all of the successes that the group has had impacting youth in our area. This year our goal is to raise $10,000!

Christmas Cookie & Ornament Paint at Artbug Studio

Choose between a Christmas moose or unicorn. Each guest gets to paint a cookie to eat and a matching ornament for the tree for $18.

Christmas Parade

The 2018 Hartsville Christmas Parade sponsored by SPC Credit Union, Neptune Island Waterpark and City of Hartsville, SC, Government will take place on Saturday, December 8th at 10:30 am, rain or shine.

Pictures with Santa

1:30-3:30 p.m.

Bring your little ones to the Hartsville Museum for pictures with Santa following the Hartsville Christmas Parade. Feel free to bring your own camera for this wonderful photo opportunity.

The Nutcracker
Friday, December 14
7:30 p.m.

The Columbia City Ballet will bring their Nationally acclaimed production of The Nutcracker to Hartsville for 1 performance only at the Center Theater. Many area dancers have been chosen to share the stage with them in this special Ballet. BCSD is proud to partner with them to make this possible.

Christmas Market with vendors, food, music, and more in the fellowship hall of Trinity United Methodist Church, presented by the DDRA

Elf – the Movie
6 p.m. Public Square

Bring lawn chairs and blankets for some Christmas magic and a free showing of the film presented by Darlington Area Recreation.

Gingerbread House Workshop
Darlington Branch Library

The Friends of the Darlington Library are offering a Gingerbread House Workshop on Sunday, December 16 from 2-5 p.m. featuring homemade gingerbread and icing. Desi Conrad, a local expert in gingerbread construction & design, will be our guide throughout the whole process. Space is limited, so make sure to reserve your spot early. The cost is $20 per house and the proceeds will go towards additional programming and program supplies for the Darlington Library.
