Carolina Brotherhood bicycle team takes a break from their trek to honor fallen first responders

Members of the Carolina Brotherhood bicycle team stretch sore legs June 27 during a stop in Darlington, part of their 600-mile trek across the Carolinas to honor fallen first responders. The 30 or so riders got a police escort into Darlington, where they made several stops. The first was at the site where a memorial to slain law-enforcement officers will be built (above), where they met with Curtis Boyd and Allison Carraway. Carraway is the widow of slain police officer Sgt. Terrence Carraway of Darlington, and Boyd is a longtime friend of the family and a key supporter of the memorial project. The riders also stopped at the Darlington Raceway and at Boyd’s Fitness World gym for lunch.
