Two Hartsville men arrested for attempted murder
On August 22, Darlington County Sheriff Deputies responded to a reported shooting at 1320 Griggs Circle, Hartsville. The victim, a 19 year old male, was located at CPRMC a short time later.
The victim reported that two male subjects came to his residence and demanded money from him, and threatened him with a handgun.
The victim and one of the subjects, Thomas, got into a physical altercation, which resulted in the victim being shot in the arm. The two subjects then fled the scene in a silver Honda. Investigators were able to retrieve a bullet from the residence.
Deputies identified and arrested the two subjects: Robert Edward Thomas, Jr., 19, of 1481 Burnt Branch Road, Hartsville and Quavius Kamel – Tysean Rogers, 22, of 335 Sumter Avenue, Hartsville.
Both men were charged with Armed Robbery w/ Deadly Weapon; Attempted Murder X 2; Criminal Conspiracy; Pointing & Presenting a Firearm X 2; Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime. Rogers was also charged with Receiving Stolen Goods <$2000 Both remain in the Darlington County Detention Center.
