Trinity-Byrnes welcomes record number of students

Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate School opened the doors to a record number of students August 15 to begin the 2018-2019 school year. The student body consists of 280 students, 70 of which are new to the campus. The freshman class makes up the largest grade with 59 students enrolled.

Students assembled in the Sonoco gymnasium upon arrival for a welcome from Kelley Byrd, Associate Head of School, and Ed Hoffman, Head of School. The 43 members of the faculty and staff introduced themselves to the student body, including 7 new teachers. They are: MacKenzie Arnold, French; Ivan Colina, Spanish; Dillon Douglass, Math; Cameron Flowtow, Technology and Yearbook; Wythe Hunnicutt, middle school Art; Samantha Pollett, English; Alexander Turner, History. Today’s orientation allowed the students to meet with each teacher for an abbreviated time. The regular block schedule will commence Thursday.

Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate School serves the entire Pee Dee region and enrolls students who are motivated to make the most of the program offered. In addition to a rigorous academic curriculum that includes 16 AP classes, the school emphasizes a personalized approach to education, a strong sense of community, and multiple opportunities for students to develop their talents and leadership skills.
