Trinity-Byrnes rededicates Rhea Field
TBCS senior varsity players and coaches, TBCS Athletic Director, Jared Amell, Mark Howle of Palmetto Brick, and Mike Winstead of RefCon accompanied Dr. Andy Rhea on the field as he cut the ribbon.
With the recent addition of stadium lights, extensive field improvements, and new dugouts, Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate School proudly re-dedicated “RM Rhea Field” on Friday, March 24. The ribbon cutting took place between the JV baseball game and the Varsity baseball game vs. King’s Academy. Music students provided wonderful entertainment at the event and Rachel Warr sang the National Anthem.
The Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate School “RM Rhea Baseball Field” was built by Dr. Andrew H. Rhea in 2004 in honor of his father Robert M. Rhea (1918-1994). Mr. Rhea, a professional engineer, was also a major in the US Army in WWII, landed on Omaha Beach during the “D” Day Invasion, and received both the Bronze Star and Croix de Guerre.

Dr. Andy Rhea cut the ribbon and threw out the first pitch of the Varsity game. Recognition was given to Mark Howle of Palmetto Brick for the brick used on the new dugouts, Michael Winstead with RefCon for the dugout construction, Kenny Brice with Brice Electrical for installation of the new stadium lights, and Greg O’Conner for the new sound system. Recognition was also given to Coach Will Adams, Coach Mike Rogers, and Dr. Tom Mezzanotte for their tireless work on the field surface over the past several months, and to TBCS baseball and softball parents. It was a beautiful evening to celebrate the new improvements and to cheer on Titan baseball.
