This past Sunday the Trinity Collegiate Titans played in the 2024 Carolina Pepsi Classic hosted by the Boys and Girls Club of the Pee Dee, and their performance did not disappoint. While they started out Friday with a rough loss to South Florence, they were able to quickly turn their luck around on Saturday by beating Quality Education 60-54, securing their spot in the consolation bracket championship with several substitutes helping them secure this massive win. They finished off this past Sunday by beating West Florence 63-51 and claiming the consolation bracket championship with several of their starting seniors becoming leading scorers and key to their victory. While this is not the result that the boys were hoping for, they still ended the tournament looking extremely strong and are beginning to come together as SCISA AAAA Region III play begins next week with Wilson Hall. The Titans currently hold a losing record in their second season with Coach Sikes, but it is beginning to look like their luck is turning around. I’m looking forward to seeing regular season play bring out the best in the Titans.
