TD Charitable Foundation Supports American Red Cross with Donation
The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank, recently donated a total of $15,000 to the American Red Cross of Eastern SC as part of the foundation’s commitment to giving back to the community.
The funds from the TD Charitable Foundation will be used to help the Red Cross provide relief to families affected by Hurricane Matthew.
Since the storm began heading towards the coast, in South Carolina, Red Cross and community partners have served nearly 290,000 meals and snacks, distributed 147,000 relief items, supported more than 10,000 health and mental health services, and provided nearly 20,000 overnight stays in more than 95 shelters. The Red Cross has also mobilized 1,300 workers, 5 kitchens and more than 40 response vehicles for the state.
“We are grateful for the assistance of partners like TD Charitable Foundation who are helping us provide care and comfort for families in South Carolina affected by Hurricane Matthew,” said Louise Welch Williams, CEO for the Palmetto SC Region of the Red Cross.
