Southern 500 Parade

The Darlington Area Recreation Department, City of Darlington, and Darlington Raceway will share the Southern 500 Parade with race fans on Saturday, September 3.
The nearly 2-mile parade route will begin at City Hall, 400 Pearl St., and continue down Pearl Street to the track and into the infield. Parade lineup will run down Edwards Avenue and turn onto West Broad Street heading southwest toward the four-way stop at Washington Street. The parade is tentatively set for 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, though any delays in the Saturday race will impact the start time.
Darlington native and track administrative assistant Bridgette Holloman will serve as grand marshal of the parade. Also featured will be the NCAA Baseball Champion Coastal Carolina baseball team; The Lady in Black Amanda Bishop; pageant queens including Miss South Carolina Teen USA Marley Stokes and the Miss All-Star United States titleholders; celebrities including Jeremy Morris winner of CMT’s Redneck Island season 4; The Pride of the Pee Dee the Darlington High School marching band and much more! September 3, 7 p.m. Starting at Edwards Ave. beside the Piggly Wiggly in Darlington and ending inside of Darlington Raceway!
