Sonoco promotes Ben Chan

Hartsville, S.C., U.S. – Sonoco (NYSE: SON), one of the largest global diversified packaging companies, is pleased to announce the promotion of Ben Chan to Vice President of Business Technology and Chief Information Officer, reporting directly to President and CEO Jack Sanders.
Chan began his career with Sonoco in 2007 as the Director, Division Business Systems for the Flexible Packaging Division. He briefly served as General Manager of Sonoco Trident’s North America business unit before taking on leadership of the Company’s global deployment of the Oracle ERP system. In 2013, Chan was promoted to Staff Vice President, Global Business Technology.
Chan has been instrumental in re-envisioning Sonoco’s Business Technology (BT) service model and aligning the BT organization to better support the current and future information technology needs of a growing global company. He holds a Professional Designation as an Accountant. He and his family will continue to reside in Hartsville, S.C.
